SilkThermo™ is a ready-to-use hydrogel developed to mimic the 3D tissue environment of bone marrow. The hydrogel can be manually cast into standard multi-well plate formats using a Silk4B protocol. No bioprinter or specialized tools required, making it easy to handle and integrate into standard laboratory workflows, with the functional advantages to SilkInk™

Cells are mixed directly with the hydrogel, poured into molds or inserts, and allowed to gel in our Crosslinking Solution. Once polymerized, the construct forms a stable, soft 3D matrix that supports long-term culture, differentiation, and interaction of hematopoietic lineages. Standard cell culture media can be used.

Its transparency, optical clarity, and structural uniformity allow for direct live imaging, confocal microscopy, and multimodal microscopy assays.

Cells can also be retrieved using our Dissolving Solution for cytometry, biochemical and molecular assays.

SilkThermo™ is ideal for users seeking a flexible, physiologically relevant matrix that can be produced without requiring specialized bioprinting equipment.

Hematopoiesis Research: By recreating key features of the bone marrow niche, SilkThermo™ supports detailed investigation of normal blood cell development, enabling controlled studies of the regulation, dynamics, and interactions that underpin physiological hematopoiesis.

Disease Modeling: By mimicking the bone marrow microenvironment, SilkThermoTM enables the study of hematological disorders, providing a simple and accessible platform for investigating disease mechanisms and progression.

Drug Screening and Development: Its compatibility with patient-derived cells makes SilkThermo™ suitable for ex vivo testing of therapeutics, offering a practical and customizable system for drug evaluation.
